Renormalizability of Hot Classical Field Theory
نویسنده
چکیده
I discuss the possibility of using classical field theory to approximate hot, realtime quantum field theory. I calculate, in a scalar theory, the classical two point and four point function in perturbation theory. The counterterms needed to make the classical correlation functions finite are dictated by the superrenormalizability of the static theory. The classical expressions approximate the quantum ones, when the classical parameters are chosen according to the dimensional reduction matching rules. I end with an outlook to gauge theories.

Stability and Renormalization of Yang-Mills theory with Background Field Method: a Regularization Independent Proof
In this paper the stability and the renormalizability of Yang-Mills theory in the Background Field Gauge are studied. By means of Ward Identities of Background gauge invariance and Slavnov-Taylor Identities the stability of the classical model is proved and, in a regularization independent way, its renormalizability is verified. A prescription on how to build the counterterms is given and the p...
متن کاملPerturbative analysis of non-Abelian Aharonov-Bohm scattering.
We perform a perturbative analysis of the nonabelian Aharonov-Bohm problem to one loop in a field theoretic framework, and show the necessity of contact interactions for renormalizability of perturbation theory. Moreover at critical values of the contact interaction strength the theory is finite and preserves classical conformal invariance.
متن کاملKinematics of Higher-spin Fields
This dissertation argues a quantum theory for higher-spin fields. Causality is discussed in both classical and quantum senses in a field theory. Renormalizability is also considered. Equations of motion are derived from a generalised concept of linearised Christoffel symbols for these higher-spin fields. It is seen that a minimally-coupled Rarita-Schwinger field violates causality, and that sup...
متن کاملJ un 1 99 5 Methods for the analysis of the Lindstedt series for KAM tori and renormalizability in classical mechanics A review with some applications
This paper consists in a unified exposition of methods and techniques of the renormalizationgroup approach to quantum field theory applied to classical mechanics, and in a review ofresults: (1) a proof of the KAM theorem, by studing the perturbative expansion (Lindstedtseries) for the formal solution of the equations of motion; (2) a proof of a conjecture byGallavotti about ...
متن کاملRenormalizability of Semiquantized Fields
A definition is given, in the framework of stochastic quantization, for the dynamics of a system composed of classical and quantum degrees of freedom mutually interacting. It is found that the theory breaks reflection positivity, and hence it is unphysical. The Feynman rules for the Euclidean vacuum expectation values are derived and the perturbative renormalizability of the theory is analyzed....
